91 - White Lightning (1973)
Burt Reynolds makes his debut on the show with the classic good-ol-boy film White Lightning. A movie that would become so popular it would spawn a sequel (Gator) that was much less successful.
White Lightning is not traditional fare for this show but it’s a great example of drive-in films that would elevate themselves into the mainstream through star power and good filmmaking.
Reynolds is a true icon of cinema and his early work is a great example of how the right star and the right crew can create something truly memorable.
